A woman in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur allegedly tied her husband to a cot, held him captive overnight, brutally assaulted him and gave him electric shocks following a domestic dispute, leaving him critically injured.

As per police, the couple frequently argued over alcohol, and the dispute escalated on Sunday night.

During the assault, the Tiwari suffered a serious head injury. Doctors at the district hospital referred him to Kanpur after his condition turned critical, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Tiwari’s brother submitted a written complaint against the accused woman at the police station. Based on the complaint, police registered a case under relevant sections of the law and took the accused wife into custody for questioning.
