The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Mahesh Meena. His wife, Kavita Meena, 23, mixed poison in a glass of juice and gave it to him as part of a conspiracy she had hatched with her boyfriend, Ganesh Meena, 27.

She allegedly took Mahesh on a motorcycle on August 5 on the pretext of getting medicines, officials said.

Mahesh’s condition deteriorated after consuming the drink. Kavita then allegedly called Ganesh to the spot. According to the police,she and Ganesh subsequently took Mahesh on a motorcycle towards a bridge.

Police suspect that the move was intended to make the incident appear to be a death caused by illness rather than a planned killing.
