The child’s father, Rocky Charan, had borrowed ₹1 lakh from an acquaintance, Jagriti Suthar, to purchase an auto-rickshaw.

When Rocky failed to repay the debt within the agreed timeframe, Jagriti pressured the family to hand over their baby girl.

After they refused, she allegedly took the infant under the pretext of playing with or feeding her, and subsequently kidnapped her.




Jagriti partnered with two other women to sell the infant to a resident of Nadiad, named Geeta Prajapati, for ₹1.5 lakh.

Following the official complaint, Ahmedabad Police successfully tracked down the child, rescued her, and reunited her safely with her mother.

Four individuals—Jagriti Suthar, Krishna, Manjula, and the buyer Geeta Prajapati—have been arrested.
