A shocking case from Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district has come to light.
According to the FIR, the alleged incident took place at around 3 pm on July 9, when Ravindra allegedly mixed a poisonous substance into a chole dish and served it to his mother, Rammoorti.
After eating the food, the woman fell seriously ill and was rushed to hospital, where she is undergoing treatment.
The complaint was lodged by the victim’s husband, Ranveer Singh.
According to the FIR, Ravindra allegedly told his father that the poisonous substance had been given to him by his mother-in-law, Phoolwati.
The complaint alleges that Phoolwati had called him to Gatpura village and handed him a packet containing poison, allegedly telling him that her daughter would return to live with him only if he “removed” his mother.
These allegations form part of the FIR and are yet to be established through the police investigation.
The accused’s brother, Mukesh, claimed the family had recently been embroiled in a dispute over a piece of land.
He alleged that Ravindra’s wife had been staying at her parental home and that her mother had made the woman’s return conditional on poisoning his own mother.
Mukesh alleged that Ravindra later mixed poison into a serving of chole and gave it to their mother.
