In the Ketan Agrawal murder case, many people blamed Siya’s parents for arranging her marriage forcefully.
But what about the numerous incidents where men are forced into marriage by women and her families?
A shocking incident of alleged forced marriage has surfaced from Bihar, where a young man was reportedly deceived into meeting his girlfriend late at night. According to reports, the woman had already informed her family about the meeting in advance.
When the young man reached the location, he was allegedly surrounded by the woman’s family members, who prevented him from leaving. He was then reportedly pressured and forced to participate in a marriage ceremony against his will.
The incident has reignited discussions about ‘Pakadua Vivah’, a practice in which a person is allegedly coerced into marriage through force or intimidation.
While such cases have historically been associated with certain regions of Bihar, they continue to raise serious concerns about consent, personal liberty, and the rights of individuals to choose whether and whom they marry.
