A 20-year-old woman has been arrested for allegedly strangling her husband to death with a dupatta after a heated argument over suspicions of an extramarital affair in Delhi’s Jagatpuri area.

According to investigators, Alisha told police during questioning that her husband suspected her of having an extramarital relationship.

Acting on those suspicions, Sahil allegedly took her mobile phone during the night and tried to search for evidence, triggering a bitter argument between the couple.




According to the accused’s statement to police, she reacted in anger during the altercation. Investigators said she allegedly sat on her husband’s chest, overpowered him and strangled him using her dupatta.

A short while later, the victim’s mother entered the room. By then, Alisha had allegedly fled the house and taken shelter in a gurdwara in an attempt to evade arrest.

Police later tracked her down and arrested her .
