Woman falls in love with brother-in-law; murders husband: Muzaffarnagar

A 30-year-old farmer died after his wife allegedly gave him a large dose of sleeping pills with milk so she could meet her lover.

The woman, 25, and her alleged lover, 26, were arrested on Saturday.

Police said his wife, Tabassum, and her lover, Shahrukh, wanted to make him fall into a deep sleep, but the dose was allegedly too high and he died.

Shahrukh, who is from Saharanpur and works as a daily wage labourer, is also Rakib’s brother-in-law.

He had allegedly been in a relationship with Tabassum for about two years. The two were sent to judicial custody and an FIR was filed under BNS Section 105 (culpable homicide).

Rakib and Tabassum have four children.
