A newly married woman allegedly fled her husband’s house with gold jewellery just a day after the wedding in Madhya Pradesh’s Gwalior, Scindia Nagar.

The incident came to light on Tuesday (30 June), morning when the groom and his family discovered she was missing.

After reviewing CCTV footage from the area, they allegedly saw the bride fleeing by jumping across the neighbouring rooftop.

The groom subsequently approached the University Police Station and lodged a complaint.

Later in the day, the bride’s father and brother brought her to the police station, where they allegedly urged the groom to take her back. He, however, refused.

During the preliminary investigation, police also came across allegations that the woman had previously been involved in a similar dispute with another prospective groom. 

The incident left the groom and his family in shock.
