According to police, the victim, Angadveer, was abducted on June 16 while playing outside his home in Ramraj village.

Investigators allege that Sharma took the child in his car and later strangled him before disposing of the body in a forested area near Hastinapur.

Police said that Gurpreet’s husband had reportedly declined to grant a divorce while Gurpreet wanted to marry Sharma.

The child’s body was recovered nearly 25 hours after the abduction based on information provided by the accused during questioning. The remains have been sent for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

SP Rural Abhijeet Kumar confirmed the arrest and said the investigation is ongoing. Family members reported that the child had left home to play at around 11 a.m. on the day of the incident and failed to return by evening, prompting a search and subsequent police complaint.

Authorities said local residents also provided information regarding the relationship between the accused and the victim’s mother, which became part of the investigation.
