Fake IAS officer dupes many in Madhya Pradesh

Tripti Singh Rajput, a class 10 dropout posing as an IAS trainee and senior tourism official, was arrested in Madhya Pradesh after a viral social media vlog exposed her multi-year fraud.

She claimed to be a 2019-batch IAS officer and Additional Director in the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department.

Tripti collected over โ‚น1 crore from victims by promising government jobs, tourism property leases, and official access.

She used AI-generated documents, forged letterheads, fake LBSNAA training photos, and a Toyota Innova with a “Government of India” marker. She even lectured civil service aspirants at
at local coaching centers.

A video of her filming a vlog at a location claimed to be the state assembly raised police suspicion.

The vlog opens with a young woman in a pink saree and a white blouse, looking confidently into the front camera.

โ€œWe have come here to attend the Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. Since they donโ€™t allow photography inside, we decided to film this outside,โ€ she giggles, and tilts the camera to show her companions.

Another woman in pink and white and one in a red saree come into the frame. โ€œLooking at our antics, no one can tell we are IAS officers,โ€ says the latter. All three laugh.

Police arrested her and her brother Sudhanshu Singh on August 23, recovering fake ID cards, joining documents, and trophies.

Rajput used her fake identity, of an IAS officer working as the Additional Director in the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Department, to collect money from people with the promise of government jobs, tourism-property leases, and access to officials.
