Man plants audio device at home to uncover wife’s affair: Gujarat

An Ahmedabad businessman has asked a court to act on his allegations that his wife of 27 years had a relationship with a man she met at a gym.

The man, who has been married for 27 years, noticed behavioral changes and received alerts from neighbors and his children.

He planted a hidden audio system in their home without his wife’s knowledge, which reportedly captured conversations confirming the extramarital affair and discussions about meeting near the Rajasthan border.

He later tracked the two during trips, catching them together in a car.

He claimed that the man frequently visited their home in his absence and that the two remained in constant touch through phone and video calls.

Fearing that valuables kept in a bank locker jointly operated in his wife’s name could be removed, the man approached a civil court and obtained an order freezing access to the locker.

The man further alleged that after the locker was sealed, his wife’s partner threatened him over the phone, demanding that he hand over the audio recordings and settle the matter.

He also claimed he was threatened with being falsely implicated in a Rs 1-crore financial dispute if he failed to comply.

He further claimed that earlier complaints to the police and cybercrime authorities did not result in any action.

Following his petition, a local court directed the Cyber Crime Police Station in Ahmedabad to investigate the allegations and submit a report within 30 days.
