A woman named Priya Gupta has been arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Singrauli district for allegedly strangling her nephew and lover, Satyaprakash Gupta, with a dupatta (scarf). The murder occurred following an intense argument stemming from prolonged marriage pressure from the victim (nephew).

As part of the investigation, the woman, Priya Gupta, is a widow and aunt of the victim.

Investigators revealed that Priya and Satyaprakash had been maintaining a secret relationship for approximately two years.

Satyaprakash was allegedly pressuring Priya to marry him, which led to frequent disputes. On the day of the incident, the two met inside the vehicle, and the argument escalated.




After strangling him, Priya left the body inside the parked car and reportedly called the victim’s brother to disclose his location, attempting to divert suspicion from herself.

While investigating, the police found the CCTV footage on the day of the crime, which showed that Priya was taking Satyaprakash to his parked car around midnight.

She later called the victim’s brother and informed him that Satyaprakash was inside the vehicle to divert suspicion after the murder.

Based on the evidence collected, police arrested Priya Gupta.
