In the wake of the Ketan Agrawal death case, Rajya Sabha MP Ashok Mittal has once again called for the establishment of a National Commission for Men.
Mr. Mittal had introduced a Private Member’s Bill in 2025 proposing the creation of such a commission to address issues affecting men and to provide an institutional mechanism for redressing their grievances.
Referring to Ketan Agrawal’s death, he emphasized the need for a dedicated statutory body that can examine concerns related to men’s welfare, recommend policy reforms, and ensure that men’s issues receive due attention.
The case has reignited a wider public debate on whether India should establish a National Commission for Men alongside existing institutions, with many calling for equal access to justice and support for all victims, irrespective of gender.
WHAT DO YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS? DO YOU THINK NATIONAL COMMISION FOR MEN BILL WILL BE PASSED?
