The Shilpa Shinde controversy has taken Indian television by storm after she openly admitted that she filed a false se*ual harassment case against producer Sanjay Kohli over her delayed payment.
Many organisations have demanded strict action against her.
Now, CINTAA’s General Secretary Upasana Singh has stepped forward and spoken in support of Shilpa.
Upasana said that Shilpa has herself admitted that she made a mistake and is not claiming she did the right thing.
She added that filing a false sexual harassment case was absolutely wrong and she does not support it, but people should not look at just one side of the story without understanding the circumstances.
She described her as a kind-hearted person who genuinely helps people.
Upasana also praised Shilpa for her courage in coming forward publicly. She said that if someone openly admits they made a mistake and regrets it, that takes real courage.
On AICWA’s demand for strict action, Upasana suggested that Shilpa should have apologised privately rather than publicly. She also pointed out that the producers worked with Shilpa again, and if they chose to move on, it should be their decision.
