Mizoram Police arrested a 38-year-old woman named Lokhi Mala for allegedly killing her 45-year-old husband, Bipin Kumar Chakma, in the Lawngtlai district.

The couple originally came from Sumsilui village and made a living by selling local liquor.

Bipin recently returned from Silchar, Assam, claiming someone robbed him of his money and liquor.

A violent fight broke out in the home shortly after Bipin and his son returned.




Neighbours heard a loud noise and called the police.

Police arrived, found Bipin dead at the scene, and disarmed Lokhi Mala, who still held the weapon.

Police believe the murder may be linked to an argument over the money and liquor Bipin lost in Silchar.

Officers are continuing their investigation into the exact motive
