A 26-year-old woman named Reshmi Das was arrested in Kolkata’s Chitpur area for allegedly beating her 29-year-old husband, Amit Das, to death following a domestic dispute.

This horrific incident occurred in the night of 23rd July.

The fatal altercation began late at night when the wife demanded momos at midnight.

The husband, who worked as an app-bike rider, failed to bring the food home, which triggered a violent dispute between the couple.

The argument reportedly escalated further over additional domestic frustrations, including a dispute regarding skipping the local Rath Mela (Rath Yatra fair).




The physical assault resulted in the severe injury and subsequent death of Amit Das.

According to a complaint filed by the victim’s mother, Reshmi allegedly kicked and punched Amit in the chest, leaving him seriously injured.

After the alleged assault, he collapsed and was rushed to RG Kar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
