“It is a male dominated world” , that’s what we have heard time & again and infact believed that a male has all kinds of privileges which a woman don’t. But is this the exact reality or just a thought process built up by society?
So many innocent men are rotting behind bars, fighting false cases for years with only one hope – justice, which is a far cry for men in our country as there are no laws for “men”. Isn’t that strange?
Vishnu Tiwari, a simple man from Lalitpur , UP, was jailed in 2001 and convicted of rape and under the SC/ST Act in 2003. The Allahabad HC acquitted him 20 years later after deeming that the charges were false. Tiwari was 23 when in 2000 he was first arrested based on an FIR filed by the woman, her husband and father-in-law. Vishnu lost all his family members during that period, which included his parents and brothers and he even couldn’t attend any of the funerals.
What is worse for a son than not being able to see his dying parentsโ faces one last time?
Vishnu’s only question is “How do I start my life at 43, with no education, no skill set and hardly any family around? “
In another incident from Madhya Pradesh, a commanding officer named Col. Nitish Khanna of Technical Training Regiment was found hanging from celing of Officers mess, on 22nd Jan 2023.
He filed for a divorce in Oct. 2022 at Lucknow High Court on the grounds of cruelty. He was going through mental and physical torture and the evidences were attached along with the divorce petition.
Unfortunately, he took his life, leaving behind a suicide note with only “SORRY” written all over the page.
A similar incident occured in Uttar Pradesh on March 2022 where a 30-year-old man, who was a lawyer by profession, identified as Ratnesh Valmiki, allegedly ended his life by suicide at his residence in Aliganj, Lucknow, leaving behind an emotional four-page note.
In his note, blamed his wife and mother-in-law for his taking the extreme step.
In another incident from Banglore, a guy named Yadunandan Aacharya was slapped with false Domestic Violence case by his wife just after 1 years of marriage. Yadunandan had all the evidences to prove that he was not guilty but police neither listened to him not filed his complaint against his wife. He and his aged parents was harassed by the police due to which his father suffered a stroke which led to brain haemorrhage. Yadunandan was also attacked by his wife but police didn’t take any action against her. The case is still pending in the court.
“I was pushed out of the police station and at that moment I felt I was some kind of a beggar”, Yadunandan said.
On Oct 2020, 22 years old Aman Baisla, based in Delhi, committed suicide, as he was threatened with false allegation of rape. He posted live video on Facebook and Instagram to explain how a girl has taken about 12.5 lakhs and when asked to return was threatening him of false rape charges and now again asking for more money or else his career and reputation will be tarnished with false rape case. This shocking incident caused outage among the public, however, no media aired this on news channels.
These are just a few such cases where a man has suffered terribly and tremendously leading to even deaths due to getting falsely implicated by women.
A 22 years old girl named Ayushi Bhatiya from Gurugram was arrested last year for filing 9 false rape cases against 9 men who was involved in extorting money from rich men. There are infact many other similar incidents in India where girls honey trap men and file false cases against them.
Around 80% of the cases (approx) filed by women which includes Rape, Domestic Violence, 498A and Dowry have turned out to be false according to the reports given by various police officials in the past 7years. Many cases don’t even get registered.
It’s not about the rights of any one particular gender but the basic human rights to speedy trial and justice. And when the laws are gender biased, the purpose of justice can never be served. So now is the time to wake up or else it will be a ‘no men’s’ world, soon.
