Recently, the Bombay High Court refused to accept a womanโs submission that her marriage to her husband was fraudulent and wasnโt consensual and that it was done after her husband offered her prasad which was spiked.
The observation was made by a bench of Justices KR Sriram and PK Chavan.
In this case, the woman claimed that the accused husband first abused her in 2007 when she was 15 years old and also clicked her obscene pictures on the basis of which he later blackmailed her.
The woman said that she kept quiet as she belonged to a reputed family in Haryana and the place where she hailed from was a rural area and even a small rumour against a woman can ruin her life.
Later she moved to Mumbai in 2012.
She further alleged that the accused followed her to Mumbai and forced her to live with him. She also said that she was abused many times and in front of people as well. The woman filed a case only in the year 2017.
After hearing the womanโs allegations, the Bench of Justices KR Sriram and PK Chavan observed that there is nothing on record to back up the womanโs allegations.
Thus, the Bench refused to grant a divorce decree to the woman.
