A 40-year-old man was allegedly set on fire by his wife late on Friday night (16th September) after a dispute between them. The incident took place at Guran village under Sanwer tehsil in Indore district of Madhya Pradesh.
The victim Prahlad Borana told the police that he had a quarrel with his wife Krishnabai. However, the fight became violent and in a fit of rage, Krishnabai poured kerosene on him from the stove on which she was cooking food. She threw the kerosene at him and then set him on fire with a matchstick.
As Prahlad started screaming for help, Krishnabai, attempted to douse the fire and save him. But, by then he had received 30 percent burn injuries.
Subsequently, Prahlad was rushed to the hospital where he has been admitted for treatment.
“A case under section 308 (attempt to commit culpable homicide) has been registered against the woman and an effort has been launched to detain her,” informed Sanwer police station in-charge , Mohan Malviya.
