A 39-year-old physiotherapist murdered her 71-year-old mother over a family dispute, stuffed her body in a suitcase and took it to the police station.

Initially she gave her mother 30 BP tablets. After that when she fell unconscious, Sen strangled her to death with her dupatta. She took it to the cops in an auto-rickshaw and said: “I have killed my mother, the body is in the suitcase.”

The accused Sonali Sen, a native of West Bengal, was the only child of her parents and was looking after her mother at her home here after her father passed away in Kolkata five years ago, according to the police. Sen, her husband, son, mother Bibha Paul, and mother-in-law were all residing in an apartment at Bilekahalli in the city’s Mico Layout.

Sen killed her mother, placed the body in a suitcase with her picture, and then travelled to the police station in Mico Layout. After that, a police sub-inspector filed a murder case.

“I’m unsure of the motive behind the murder. She must be taken into custody by us. She has taken physiotherapy courses. There might have been some domestic problems, Baba said. “Sen is her parents’ lone child. She has been looking after her for the past five years. The victim had a few medical conditions. When the murder occurred, her mother-in-law and her child were also present in the house but in a different room, he claimed.
