A 40-year-old woman has been arrested on Wednesday for allegedly strangling her husband to death with a towel following a dispute over her alleged relationship with another man in Bahlimpura village of Bulandshahr.
According to family members, Krishna Kumar was involved in farming and animal husbandry. He married Preeti, a resident of Thauna, about 16 years ago.
The deceased’s mother, Angoori Devi, and nephew, Pradeep Rajput, allege that Preeti was having an affair with another man and would spend hours talking to him on the phone.




Krishna Kumar opposed this, leading to frequent arguments and fights between the two.
According to family members, on Monday night, Preeti gave Krishna Kumar money to buy alcohol. He returned home drunk around 9 p.m.
It is alleged that Preeti strangled him with a towel during this time. His mother, Angoori Devi, who was sleeping nearby, heard the noise and rushed to the scene.
Krishna Kumar was found unconscious. A doctor examined him and declared him dead.




The deceased’s nephew, Pradeep, told police that Preeti allegedly wanted to sell her husband’s property and elope with her lover. She had already sold a plot of land worth ₹3.5 million and five buffaloes.
After the post-mortem examination confirmed murder, the police arrested the accused wife. Police are now investigating the motive behind the murder, including alleged illicit relationships and property disputes.
