We all are very well acquainted with the popular Hindi saying, “Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota”, which means “Men don’t feel pain”. And therefore, the world thinks that there is no need to stand up for men. But the truth is, every “living being” in this earth feels pain. Like a woman, a man too faces different kinds of harassments in his lifetime but people rarely address it. Hence, the laws are gender biased in India.
The feminist movement began towards the middle of 20th centaury, throwing light on the gross inequalities and hardships that women suffer on a day to day basis. Hence, a need was felt to make amendments in the law so that women could get equal rights as men and lead a dignified life. But as days are passing, men are victimized by the so-intended women empowering legislations.
