Social media creator Netal, a 36-year-old mother of four, and her lover, Gumansingh, were arrested by Rajasthan Police for murdering her husband, Tejaram.
The victim’s body was found in a secluded farm water tank on June 4, 2026, after Netal staged her disappearance to lure him into a fatal trap.
Netal, who has approximately 42,000 followers on Instagram, met Gumansingh, a three-wheeler taxi driver, through a social media platform.
Their illicit relationship sparked frequent disputes with her husband, who repeatedly demanded they end the affair.
On June 2, 2026, Netal called her husband to state that she was fed up and leaving home, before switching off her phone.
Distressed, Tejaram left his job site in Jalore to search for her and contacted Gumansingh, who lured him to Dhorimanna in Barmer.
Gumansingh served Tejaram alcohol and, once he was heavily intoxicated, drove him in his taxi about 30 kilometres away to a field near Malpura Phanta.
Gumansingh then threw the unconscious man into a water tank (taanka) to drown him, subsequently discarding the victim’s phone and bag outside.
Following the recovery of the body, Tejaram’s brother filed a report suspecting the wife and her lover of murder.
Authorities used technical evidence to track the suspects, leading to their arrest. Netal was remanded to judicial custody, while Gumansingh was taken on police remand.
