A 35-year-old man allegedly committed suicide, recording and broadcasting the act through Instagram Live from a hotel room, on 12th September. The wife of the deceased, Vikram, has accused a woman of blackmailing him and forcing her husband to commit suicide.

According to the complaint filed by Neeru, the wife of the deceased, on Monday, her husband Vikram had gone to a hotel in Sector 38 at the call of a female friend of his to celebrate her birthday. 

“At the hotel, my husband was forced to commit suicide and even record it on Instagram Live.She was constantly blackmailing Vikram and demanding money from him. She had some objectionable videos of both of them which she threatened to upload online. She tortured Vikram twice and forced him to kill himself,” Neeru said in her complaint. 

The couple lived in the Rajendra Park area with their two children. 

Vikram became friends with the 20 year old woman a few months ago.

However, the wife of the deceased has accused a woman of blackmailing her husband and forcing him to take the drastic measure. She also claimed that the woman was present in the room when he hanged himself and did nothing to stop him.

As per the media reports, the man allegedly died by suicide after the 20-year-old woman, who hails from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, left the room.

When the woman saw the post, she immediately informed the guest house staff who called the police. According to the police, the woman lives in a rented accommodation in Sector 39 and works at a real estate company in Gurugram.

Police has filed a case under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), against the man’s friend on the complaint of his wife, Neeru, on Monday.
