A five-year-old nursery student was hospitalised after being repeatedly slapped and beaten by a female class monitor at ALS Academy, Vrindavan Yojana, Lucknow.
The assault, which lasted for several minutes while the teacher was away, left the child with severe facial injuries.
The Incident: When the teacher stepped outside, she allegedly instructed the students to keep their heads down and left the class monitor in charge. When the victim briefly lifted his head, the monitor brutally assaulted him.
The boy suffered severe bruising and swelling on his face and ear, requiring admission to the PGI Trauma Centre.
Following protests from the parents and a review of the classroom’s CCTV footage, the school management expelled the class monitor.
The child’s family filed a formal complaint, prompting the police to launch a detailed probe into the incident and school supervision.
