Telivision actress Tunisha Sharma died on 24th December by hanging herself. Speculations say that the reason behind her death was her break up from her boyfriend and co-star Sheezan Khan that happened 15 days before her death.
She developed depression after the breakup and allegedly was under a great deal of stress. The police stated that all of the factors had contributed to her taking the drastic action at a TV soap opera Alibaba: Dastaan-E-Kabul set in Vasai.
Tunisha had lunch with the main accused and co-actor Sheezan Khan before hanging herself, sources said.
The First Information Report, or FIR, in a case registered by the police, charging Sheezan Khan for abetment to suicide, revealed that the duo were in a relationship and had broken up 15 days before Tunisha’s death. The 20-year-old-actor was reportedly stressed after the break-up, which pushed her to take the drastic step, several people close to them have said.
During their investigation at the scene on December 24, the police did not find any suicide notes, but they did state that they would look into the actor’s death from both a murder and a suicide perspective.
After that the police announced that Khan had been taken into custody early on December 25th and his court appearance was scheduled for December 26.
Sheezan Khan told the police he was “so disturbed by the atmosphere in the country that emerged after the gruesome murder of Shraddha Walkar” that he decided to end their relationship.
Sheezan Khan has also said in his statement that Tunisha Sharma had attempted suicide earlier as well, after they broke up, “Tunisha had recently tried to commit suicide a few days before her death, but at that time I saved her and told Tunisha’s mother to take special care of her,” Sheezan Khan told the police.
Tunisha Sharma’s mother has alleged that she was “cheated and used” by her co-star Sheezan Khan, and has demanded strict action against him.
Sheezan Khan has been sent to 4 days judicial custody.
Meanwhile, Sheezan’s sisters have released an official statement and said, “To everyone who’s been trying to reach out to us for a statement on the case- please allow our family privacy in this brave situation. It’s upsetting to see the members of the media constantly calling us and even standing below our apartment. We have full faith in the Indian Judiciary System and Sheezan is co-operating with the Mumbai police through all the procedures. We will talk about this when the time is right, but for now please allow us the privacy which our family deserves right now. “
Mumbai Police, however, added that they were still looking into the situation thoroughly.
