A 25years old man named Ashish consumed poison after being hurt by the harassment of his wife and her family members in Ganaur town of Sonipat district of Haryana. DeepThe family took him to Khanpur PGI in critical condition, where he died during treatment.

The father of the deceased man said that his wife had gone to her maternal home for three and a half months and wasn’t returning back. She was threatening to implicate Ashish in the rape and dowry case. Later when the girl’s family members threatened Ashish on Sunday, he consumed poison.

It is alleged that whenever Ashish went to pick up his wife at the in-laws’ house, he was mentally harassed there. He was threatened to be implicated in rape and dowry cases and Ashish started getting worried about it.

Ashish got married to Himanshi on 20th April, 2022. Ashish’s father Krishna Kumar told that since marrying Himanshi, her mother Annu, father Rakesh, grandmother Murthy and brother Shankar were harassing his son Ashish along with Himanshi herself. Whenever Ashish went to the in-laws’ house to pick up his wife, he was harassed there and the in-laws used to abuse him and his wife refused to come with him.

On Sunday afternoon, Himanshi’s father, brother and grandmother came to Ashish’s house and threatened him. After they left, Ashish consumed poison in the evening.

The case is under investigation and the police has registered FIR against the wife and her family members. More details are yet to come out
