In a spine chilling incident from Haryana, a woman allegedly threw acid at a man on Wednesday. The reports state the woman wanted to marry him, but the man and his family were against the marriage. In a fit of rage, the woman threw a can full of acid at him when he went to a shop in the Mayur Vihar colony to buy milk.
The man suffered serious burns and is currently admitted to the ICU at a private hospital. The doctors said that the condition of the victim is critical. The victimโs aunt has lodged a case against the woman who threw acid.
The victim has been identified as Shyam Singh of Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district. The 25-year-old used to live with his aunt after his parents died a few years ago.
The victimโs aunt said Shyam works in a company that is close to the accused womanโs village. The woman who used to live in Gohana, used to call him regularly.
His aunt also stated that later, the accused came to her house with her mother with a proposal to marry her nephew. But a few days later, the victimโs family got to know about her first marriage and that she was living separately from her husband. Shyam then refused to marry her, but the woman didnโt stop calling him.
Shyam and his aunt informed about the same to the woman’s family. Following this, her family members asked him to block their daughterโs number, thinking she might stop talking. The accused even threatened Shyam to marry her, otherwise, she wouldnโt let him get married to any other girl.
Shyam’s aunt further said she asked Shyam to stay at home after she got to know about the accusedโs warning. But on Wednesday morning, Shyam went out for some work when he saw her inquiring about him by showing photos to the shopkeepers. Shyam then returned home.
Later in the evening, Shyam went to buy milk from Mayur Viharโs street when suddenly the accused brought a five-liter can and threw acid at him. His aunt said when they got word about the incident, they immediately took Shyam to the nearby hospital. Shyam suffered burns on his arms, legs, mouth, neck, and back due to the acid attack.
