In July 2021, a 38-year-old woman in Gujarat’s Ahmedabad allegedly conspired with her 19 years old lover and two other men to murder her unemployed husband.
The accused woman was identified as Rekha. She was helped by her 19-year-old boyfriend Sabir Pathan and friend Raju Damor in the murder. Reportedly, a 22-year-old man also helped the three accused in strangling the victim to death. The deceased was identified as Jignesh Solanki.
Solanki was unemployed and had been spending his wife’s money. The same upset Rekha and she allegedly decided to murder her husband. Both Pathan and Damor told Rekha they would murder Solanki and live together.
On July 17, the four accused met on the eastern side of the riverfront near Ellis Bridge.
The accused allegedly took Solanki to Ellis Bridge where the four of them assaulted Solanki before strangling him to death. The accused then left the man’s body near Victoria Garden and fled from the spot.
Gaekwad Haveli police lodged a case of murder and handed over the probe to the crime branch. The crime branch has arrested Rekha, Pathan and Thakkar. A search is on to arrest Damor.
