An athlete committed suicide in the Muzzafarpur district Monday who was accused with false charges of rape.

According to the information, on Monday, a young man named Rahul of Bhaisi village committed suicide by hanging himself from a tree. A suicide letter was found from his pocket. The police have taken the letter in their possession and sent the body for post-mortem.
According to the suicide note, the young man called the allegations of rape against him false and due to that reason he was into depression. And because of this he has decided to end his life. The youth was also sentenced to 19 months in jail for these charges.

The young man wrote in the letter that his life has become useless, since he has been sent to jail after being implicated in a false case. And since then he has been in depression. He hasn’t done anything wrong. The girl was only his friend and he had called her to get a job, yet the girl’s parents sent her to jail for luring her away and raping her. Rahul also wrote that after being in jail for 19 months, my life has been spoiled. I am in depression and now I can’t even get any government job. That’s why I am taking this step. I’m sorry it’s not my family’s fault. Whatever I am doing, I am doing it of my own free will.

Rahul also mentioned in the note that the girl’s family framed him for money. “Father forgive me .. my dream was also to become a big athlete. I also worked hard, won many medals in the country and abroad but my life was spoiled. I didn’t rape. This girl has also said that nothing happened to me, then why did I get punished. I will not live with this stigma. Everyone is thinking wrong about me. I am not able to talk to anyone so I am ending my life,” he wrote.

Rahul was in depression for the last 20 months.

Rahul had won medals in many competitions in the country and abroad at an early age. He was also preparing for the Olympics by staying in Delhi. Meanwhile, in Delhi, the family members of a girl had filed a case of rape on her for luring her daughter away. After which Delhi Police arrested Rahul from his village. After being in jail for about 19 months, Rahul came out of jail on bail a month ago.

At the same time, the police said that now the matter is being investigated, and legal action will be taken on the basis of the suicide note.
